Discipleship is a new ministry experience.
You are new to walking with God, or...
you have been learning at Adventure, but you'd like to put it all together.
Or you would love to help others grow in faith, but are not sure if you are equipped to help others.
Then Discipleship may be just right for you!
Discipleship is a 10-session program where you will meet with a facilitator one-on-one in a non-threatening environment weekly and go through the critical foundational materials for spiritual growth.
It will be a place you can ask those questions you always wanted to ask about God, Jesus, church and anything spiritual and life.
Spaces are limited; so, sign up today!
FAQ
Q: Do I have to be a member of Adventure to go through Discipleship?
A: No. You need not be an Advnture member. It's open to anyone who wants to build a solid foundation for his/her spiritual life.
Q: How long is the program?
A: There are 10 sessions. Normally, you will cover one session a week.
Q: Do I have to commit to the entire 10 sessions?
A:
It may be hard to keep the regular schedule for 10 weeks. While each session is independent, covering the whole series will equip you and help you build confidence in God and yourself.
Q: How does it work?
A: You will meet with a "discipler" on a weekly basis and together you will go through the study material.
Q: How do you pair me up with a discipler?
A: Based on the sign-up information you give us, we will try to match up with a discipler. We want you to feel comfortable and connected; so, if for whatever reasons, you feel it's not working out, the program director will be happy to help you switch your discipler.
Q: Who is a discipler?
A: These are men and women at Adventure who have been walking with God. But they are not super-spirituals or Bible answermen (or women). They are students of Jesus and of the Bible themselves on a life-long spiritual journey.
Q: What do we cover in the study materials?
A: Walking with God, prayer, the Bible, Jesus, Holy Spirit, man (humanity), sin, Satan, church are the major topics of this study.
Q: What do we do when we meet?
A: Each session has reading, questions to consider, portions of the Bible to read and study and some practical application points. You will go through the session on your own PRIOR to your meeting with your discipler. At the meeting, you will discuss what you have learned and discovered in your study. Also the meeting is a great time for you to ask any question that has come up in the course of your study.
Q: How long is each meeting?
A: Ultimately, your discipler and you will want to decide. We hope you will meet about one hour each time. If you want to meet longer, it is up to you.
Q: How do I study the Bible?
A: Your discipler will walk you through.
Q: When and where do we meet?
A: That is totally up to your discipler and you. It can be at Adventure, at your home, at Starbucks or even at work. It can be anytime - in the morning, mid-day, in the evening, weekday or weekend.
